MSFirefox Unleashed

MSFirefoxI was reading The Register this morning when I came across the article " Microsoft unleashes improved Firefox". Say what??
The open source community is in a state of shock this morning at the news that Microsoft has released a version of popular browser Firefox.
I have to admit that I just started to skim the article - my brain reeling. Why would Microsoft release a version of their competitor's software? Sure, Firefox is open source but is this legal? Funny Billy GatesAs the MSFirefox page slowly loaded, I began to scrutinize. Page loads slow. Code not so tight. Ok, I don't remember Windows' slogan being "Where am I today?". So it seems that I've been momentarily duped. I guess The Register was in on the joke now that I go back and read the actual article (without seeing red like any Firefox fan would). From the MSFirefox site... Cut through the clutter. Unexpected is good. An exceptional streamlined browsing technology known as the Cut Away Effect™, randomly prevents 9/10 of the browser from rendering properly in order to save system resources. This is not a bug. Do more by doing less. Open multiple copies of Microsoft websites in one window with tabbed browsing. See thumbnail images of all Microsoft sites in a single view. Organize multiple tabs of sites into a single tab group of everything Microsoft and save it as a favorite. Opening 30 of your favorite Microsoft sites has never been easier. Fun at the speed of light. Tired of slow image rendering? Microsoft Firefox 2007 can deliver online pornography at blazing fiery speeds. By using a proprietary dynamic algorithm, anything that remotely resembles a tit or a boob will download up to 10 times faster! Microsoft Firefox 2007 Professional Edition "It's better now...like seriously..." Unfortunately the site is lagging so much I can't watch the demo video or do much else but kudos to whoever went to all the trouble. Sure, I was fooled but I hadn't finished my coffee yet.

Incidentally, their free email service actually works. I was the lucky caller that ended up with sballmer_at_msfirefox.com... expect beta performace, though. Still the best spoof I've ever seen.
