IE7 Release Elicits A Solid "Meh"
Microsoft's much-anticipated IE7 browser is finally available for download, the first major upgrade to its browser software since the release of IE6 in August 2001.
As a FireFox user, I can't be bothered to care about such things. My day today will be much too full with gloating and elitism to worry about IE7. I will probably be starting more than a few sentences with "Did you know FireFox already..." I'll make people take note that IE7's new features such as tabbed browsing, and an integrated RSS feed reader have been an integral part of FireFox for quite a while. I love using the word "integral". I'll probably use the phrase "playing catch-up" while chuckling and sipping some expensive fair-trade espresso drink.
Wait, was I making fun of myself or FireFox users? Uhhh...anyway...
With the official release of FireFox 2.0 on the horizon (I won't use beta versions, it's like peeking under the x-mas tree), there is bound to be even more comparison break downs out there. I would even venture to bet that IE7's release will gain a second wave of publicity once FF2.0 is out in the wild.
